Seeking

There are those in this world that see the beauty around them in the earth, in the life or in the heavens and are unable to understand that Yahweh Sabaoth created all that is. His  beauty is far exceeds that which is seen in His creation. Even if they are slow to realize or grasp this truth He is willing to slowly, patiently bring then to realize the creation is not greater than the creator. Placing the creation above the creator of that creation is offensive to the Lord Sabaoth. It is the same as creating an idol out of some material then  worshiping what our hands have made. The Lord's creation is to be admired, cared for, protected but not worshiped. Desire for the things of the world around us leads to another kind of worship, power. Power is all corrupting and another form of idolatry. There is but one power and it is our Lord. There is but one worthy of our adoration and worship, our Lord. Our tenure in this life is but a blink of the eye compared to the life we are offered in the kingdom of heaven. Idolatry is a passing mist so brief it is almost nonexistent, a distraction. Is idolatry worth giving up eternal life? I think not. Seek what is truth. Seeking after God through Jesus, His Son, ensures our place in His divine graces.

I am sharing some recent images in the next few posts. This image is a stamp that I have no idea where it came from.

I Chose You

(John 15:16-17) Most people assume they found the Lord and followed Him. The truth is He called them and they had the choice of following or not following the Lord. We are baptised when we are very young before we understand what it is all about. I know we are called regularly but either ignore that calling, feel we are just too busy or just don't care. With all that is going on in the world these days, that includes all of the negative press surrounding "religion", people tend to think the Lord does not exist and if He does He is way out there somewhere and is unaware theat we exist. That the Lord would stand at our door and call us means there is a purpose for us in His scheme of things. We cannot know ahead of time what that calling will lead to. It is often something we are actually good at and, just as often, something we are not aware of. Don't be discouraged by the "better than thou" attitude of some or "put off" by the behavior of some. The calling of the Lord is real and His purpose for us is special. It is a place only we can fill in our own unique way. Do not fear answering that call. If you feel a calling, seek out someone you trust and work it out. You will never regret putting yourself in His hands and care. He is more trustworthy than anyone including ourselves.

This week I am sharing an image from Stamping up that my DW gave me to do for her. The card stock caused the Copic pens to bleed some of the colors used. I think the image turned out pretty nice anyway.

I haven't used the photos lately because glare drowns out some of the caps.

That is it for this post. Remember to always "Love The Details." God bless and keep you safe.

Salvation

"There is never a time in the future in which we will work out our salvation. The challenge is in the moment; the time is always now."

                                                  James Baldwin

In the days when the Jewish Temple stood in Jerusalem, the holy of holies was veiled with a curtain. There was also a veil that prevented gentiles from entering in specific areas of the temple. Sin during this time was a death sentence for the sinner. When Christ died on the cross the veil in the temple was torn in two, top to bottom. This was to let the believer know that they now had access to the creator without human restriction. The veil of the Holiest of Holies was part of other Christian religious practices until recent history as well. These were man made and not part of what the Lord intended; direct access to our Lord. Christ blessed us with the removal of the curtain between his creation and Himself. Salvation does not come with the law but with the word of God and the sacrifice that Christ made on the cross. He was the ultimate sin offering for the forgiveness of our sins. Salvation is the gift of grace we cannot earn. Belief in Christ is the only price and is a gift of grace from our Lord. It is non-transferable and cannot be voided so long as we believe in Him. It is what is so unique about Yahweh, our God. He first loved us before we loved Him. Even the sacrifice of His only Son was not too much to show His love for us. Should we feel any less toward Him? Shouldn't we show that same love for others? That is the ultimate love. (2 Timpthy 1:10)

New Year, New Resolutions

How many years have you made resolutions that were never kept? How many chuckles have you had thinking about them? Have you ever kept any of them? If you have kept any, can you count them on more than one hand? It is the rare if not impossible individual who can say in all honestly they have made and kept a New Year resolution for the full year. These are things in our lives that have been hard to shake. Smoking, cursing, gambling, drugs, strealing, lieing, judging others and any other negative or adverse thing in our lives that causes us pain or is outside of what the word says is good. None of these things are easy to eliminate in our lives. This year consider taking those things and placing them before the Lord and simply releasing them in His care to dispose of. Do this daily or when the urge to do any of these things comes to mind. Do not stray from this habit of release to the Lord. Follow the leading He provides, even though you may fall, and you will be clensed. If you fall, get up, brush yourself off, aks for forgiveness and continue to place your cares before Him. Ask for the strength to do what needs to be done. Be faithful to the path you have chosen. Beleive in the Lord. You may need to continue for some time but you will be victorius in the end. When you are free of the bondage that you placed before Him do not forget to thank Him for it.

Today I am sharing an image from Serendipity. This is one of 3 images being done for Jill (my DW) for her Christmas card projects. This is the first one. I will share the others as the are done. For some reason the white color appears slightly yellow in the photos.

The Copic colors are: G17, R39, YR15, E57, T0, B000, Multiliner 0.05, Pro White Water Color

I am not comletely happy with this result and will try to do better with the next two tries.
