Scripture

We are scheduled for our first shot today. YAY! About time!

This is a different post from most. It was chosen to share some thoughts and observations about the bible. The scriptures are often seen, especially the old testament, as about rebellion and God's harsh disciplines of men. That may be true but it also imparts a sense that He is a ruthless God to be feared. Nothing is further from the truth. (1 John 4:8) This has been stressed often in my posts. "God is love."  This is the season that proves that. The crucifiction of Christ on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. This is not a God bent on destruction but forgiveness. The scriptures are the living word of YahWeh inspired through human kind to convey the eternal love He has for us. His word inspires, changes and lifts up the hearts of those who read or hear it. His word is alive in ways we can only be in awe of. For Him to speak is to have creation happen then and there. For scripture, His word, to be taken into us is to have a new creation be born within. New insights and vistas are opened up to our eyes and our spirits. Read the same scripture at a later date and the word will be seen with NEW meaning. His word is ALIVE. It has life that no other words have. (Luke 20:38) How do you see scripture? What do the words you read says to you? I have a terrible memory for memorizing anything. The word has found a home in my heart and soul. His word is a living presence, life giving water. It has been called living water with good reason. (John 4:10, 7:38) The word often speaks to the heart. It convicts, inspires, confirms, soothes, teaches and instructs. The bible is the most complete book of truths ever published. How does the word you read in the scriptures affect you?

Today I would like to share an image from Impression Obsession called "Watering Can Garden" that was done some time ago. First the stamp itself.

This stamp was somewhat difficult due to the darkness of the stamped image. It came out fairly well with a little care.

The Copic colors are:

E13, B04, C4, RV11, RV13, Y08, E07, R46, B04, C3, B02, T2, G03, YG93, YG95, E23, E57, G07, YG09, YG17

and Uniball Gel Impact Gold pen.

Thank you for visiting and for the comments if you left one. I pray that you are well and safe. Remember to always "Love The Details." God bless!

The Power of Prayer

Love is a special word. It is often used as an expression to describe a physical or emotional feeling or desire. It is much more than that. As we grow in the togetherness of love it becomes a bonding of souls making us one in spirit and mind. The physical expression of love has no comparison to offer. "Puppy" love is a flash in the pan, a momentary happening. The love the Lord calls us to is a bonding love that is selfless, eternal. (1 John 4:8, Romans 5:8, 1 John 4:16) Prayer is often the subject of these posts. Do you realize that love is the power of prayer? Not just our prayer to God but the fact that that prayer is even answered! Read Romans 5:8 again. Read 1 John 4:16 again. "God is LOVE!" Love has some powerful traits that are all encompassing. (1 Corinthians 13:4) Love is patient and kind, never jealous, boastful or conceited. This is the place from which prayer should come. (Matthew 6:7) Prayer should be simple and concise. Thanks should given before offering up petitions and after the petition. (Philippians 1:9) Prayer still has the power to heal and to changer things and to protect.

I would like to share a card I made some time ago.

I know the cross is a stamp from Our Daily Bread. I did not record the Copic Colors. The die cuts were from my stash as were the stickers.

I hope everyone is doing fine and staying healthy. Remember to always "Love The Details." God Bless and keep you safe.

Patience

Patience is a virtue but also a test. That which we desire is often not immediate in forthcoming. In this day and age the desire is to have things immediately with no waiting period. That is just not how things normally happen. (Sirach 1:23, 2:4) Right now for many of us it is waiting for the COVID 19 shots to become available. Ranting and raving does no good since we have no control over supplies of the vaccine or it's distribution. The same is true of the prayers we offer up. (James 5:7) It is at the Lord's pleasure when we are answered not ours. He decides the proper time. Throughout scripture we are implored to wait on the Lord. It is a time of strengthening. If we are to Trust in the Lord we must learn to be patient. If our belief is to be proven we must be patient. If anything we seek is truly worth anything we must be patient. (proverbs 25:15, Ecclesiastics 7:8, Galatians 5:22, Ephesians 4:2, Colossians 3:12, 2 Peter 3:15) All of these and many more are in the word.

I would like to share a needle point I did some years back. I am an avid humming bird and butterfly fan. This needle work is of butterflies.

This took many weeks to finish. It was done in the 80's when I had a broken leg. I did not take a photo of the back but it is almost as nice as the front. The white cloth background yellowed a bit but it is special. I wanted to do another but could not find another this nice. I am just happy this one was available.

That is it for this post. Thank you for stopping by and commenting and God bless. Remember to always "Love The Details."

Forgiveness

Recent times have seen many things that confound our sense of sanity. Things seem to be upside down and inside out from normal. It is distressing to see everything twisted out of shape and distorted beyond recognition. In some cases hate is displayed openly with caustic results. Hate cannot drive out hate. (Luke 11:15, Matthew 12:24, Mark 3:22) Only Love can do that. (1 John 4:8-9, 1 John 4:16) Life will never be without differences. Our lives must not be governed with hate or discord. The love our Lord  wants us to practice is that of compassion, understanding and cooperation. (Leviticus 19:18) Love thy neighbor as yourself. He did not say an if, and, or but this or that. It was a flat command. It is the ultimate summation of the commandments. (Romans 13:9) My last post was to pray for all things that are a concern for us, for our society. There is a lot to be concerned about in our world. I for one am not God. He is far and above anything I am. His strength is all that sustains me in this world. This world would take that from me if it could and it is trying to do so. The word the bible teaches is that man is not in charge but God is in charge. (Psalms 82:1) Humans are not in charge, God is in charge. What made this country great was a spirit of cooperation and respect. The motto "In God We Trust" is not followed much in our society as witnessed by the animosity rift in the population. My heart breaks at the lack of love we show for those around us. This time of pandemic does not help but it should not deter us from caring. If we cared more about the suffering of others the world would be a much different place.

Today I am sharing the second image from Sugar Nellie. It is sad that they have closed up shop. Their images are my all time favorites. This Image is also of Victoria.

This is a very soft version of the coloring I usually do. The copic colrs are:

Shoes - E09
Coat & Hat - BG90
Dress & socks - G14
Finger Nails - R20
Eyes - G00
Hair - E51
Skin - E00, E000, E0000, Rv0000, R01

The weather here has been cold with a bit more snow than we have had in a few years. On the 22nd of February we had about three inches in just over three hours. Here is a few snap shots of it coming down.

Thermometer on the shed is reading in the high 20's with the snow coming down fairly steady. these picks were taken through the upstairs window screens so they will appear grainy.

The street is fairly clear and plowed because we live on a snow emergency route.

At this point it was snowing very hard, thus the almost foggy look to the image.

That is it for this post. Thank you for the visit. God Bless and remember to "Love The Details."

What of Humility?

The gift of humility is a tough thing to describe. It tends to not make us humble if we try to imitate it. The above description is the best and simplest I have heard. (Philippians 2:3) Living life is not without struggles. It is filled with twists and turns, uplifting and downfalls. The sole purpose for some is to gain recognition, for others it is total servitude. Humility is rarely self serving. Pride is ok but it can be corrupted. True humility cannot. In past posts the subject matter has had a great deal to do with humility. Not something that is easily faked or learned. (Ephesians 4:2) Humility is genuine when based in love. Jealousy and vanity have no place when a humble heart is within us. Colossians 3:12 says "As the chosen of God, then, the holy people whom He loves, you are to be clothed in heartfelt compassion, in generosity and humility, gentleness and patience." When all of these things are present there is no room for self. If self enters in it should be "how can I be of service? How can I help?"

I searched through the large collection of images I have stock piled and realized there are quite a few that were never scanned or posted. I am posting one of them today and one of them next week. They are Sugar Nellie images.

The Image is Victoria. It is one of my and Jill's Favorites.
The Copic colors used are:
Flowers- R27, E07, Y02, YG07
Hat Band & Shirt - B21
Buttons - C4
Bows - C0
Skin - E00, E000, E0000, R0000
Lips - R01
Hair - E51
Hat Rim Underside - E43
Hat Crown & Jacket - BG10
For some unknown reason the color of the eyes were never recorded. So much for paying attention to the detail. (Smile)

Another Victoria image will be shared next week. Until then please take care and God bless. Remember to always "Love The Details."
