Tomorrow seems a long way off. It will get here in its own good time. It is not a "given" that we will see that time come to pass. Life is fleeting and finite. Looking in the future is all fine and good but if you concentrate on it and dwell on what could be you will most assuredly miss the gift of the present. Most of the bible focuses on the here and now with good reason. The present is what God finds to be important. The time for action is now not the future. In the present is where we need to be if we are to walk the straight and narrow path. In the present is where forgiveness can be found. Procrastination is not something the Lord teaches us. All of the things He teaches us is in the present. Not the future. The present is where we begin and the future is where the goal we seek lies. If you arrive at the end and have not yet begun it is too late. The old adage "shoulda, coulda, woulda" is of no use when the end becomes the here and now. All too often I have found myself in the "shoulda, coulda, would" end game. At this point the meaningful purpose for making a difference is lost and either gone forever or someone else has seen the need in the present and accomplish the need. It is also called being luke warm for the Lord. Christ lived in the day, not the future. He was aware of the future but He lived in the present, taught in the present, healed in the present, lived in the present.
The next few flower images are from a site called paint "Paint The World". They have some really nice graphics that are free to color. This was colored as a blue variegated German Iris.
The Copic colors used are: That is it for this post. May the god Lord bless and keep you safe. Remember to always "Love The Details."
How true Jim, we really can only guarantee the present, and need to live with purpose here and now and in a manner that brings honour to the Lord
ReplyDeleteLove your colouring of the iris - that is stunning

So true. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Your coloring is stunning, as always.

I think many of us struggle with the here and now. But we definitely need to live in the present as we are never promised tomorrow. Great post Jim, gets one thinking. Love your Iris, it is colored so pretty and looks so real! Hugs & Blessings, Brenda
