Scripture

We are scheduled for our first shot today. YAY! About time!

This is a different post from most. It was chosen to share some thoughts and observations about the bible. The scriptures are often seen, especially the old testament, as about rebellion and God's harsh disciplines of men. That may be true but it also imparts a sense that He is a ruthless God to be feared. Nothing is further from the truth. (1 John 4:8) This has been stressed often in my posts. "God is love."  This is the season that proves that. The crucifiction of Christ on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. This is not a God bent on destruction but forgiveness. The scriptures are the living word of YahWeh inspired through human kind to convey the eternal love He has for us. His word inspires, changes and lifts up the hearts of those who read or hear it. His word is alive in ways we can only be in awe of. For Him to speak is to have creation happen then and there. For scripture, His word, to be taken into us is to have a new creation be born within. New insights and vistas are opened up to our eyes and our spirits. Read the same scripture at a later date and the word will be seen with NEW meaning. His word is ALIVE. It has life that no other words have. (Luke 20:38) How do you see scripture? What do the words you read says to you? I have a terrible memory for memorizing anything. The word has found a home in my heart and soul. His word is a living presence, life giving water. It has been called living water with good reason. (John 4:10, 7:38) The word often speaks to the heart. It convicts, inspires, confirms, soothes, teaches and instructs. The bible is the most complete book of truths ever published. How does the word you read in the scriptures affect you?

Today I would like to share an image from Impression Obsession called "Watering Can Garden" that was done some time ago. First the stamp itself.

This stamp was somewhat difficult due to the darkness of the stamped image. It came out fairly well with a little care.

The Copic colors are:

E13, B04, C4, RV11, RV13, Y08, E07, R46, B04, C3, B02, T2, G03, YG93, YG95, E23, E57, G07, YG09, YG17

and Uniball Gel Impact Gold pen.

Thank you for visiting and for the comments if you left one. I pray that you are well and safe. Remember to always "Love The Details." God bless!

  5. Amazing coloring of that difficult image, Jim--love it! So, so happy you're finally getting vaccinated! Today is my 2 wks post 2nd shot--hurrah! The Word is truth, but it makes me so sad that people who say they believe the Bible are spouting hate & lies. My neighbor was confronted in a parking lot by a man saying no need to wear masks, the virus is a hoax, just read your Bible. As you can imagine, that just made her less interested in Christianity. So discouraging what has happened in this country.

  6. Lovely coloring. Love those IO stamps too. So agree about how reading a verse one day can have a completely different meaning the next time it is read. I have experienced this so many times. That is why it is so important to reach for your bible frequently. Have a super day!

  11. Beautiful post Jim. I have to admit I has struggled with understanding the Bible at times or interpret it in the wrong way. I can't pronounce words it has in it either. But now I read a verse in the evening before bed on the app I have and that explains it to me after reading it, then gives me a prayer to pray. It speaks to me then because I understand what I'm reading. The Bible can be interpreted in many ways, so I hope I'm getting the right interpretation! Wow, that is a very detailed stamp but oh so beautiful! And you have done it justice with your coloring too. I'd never be able to color something that detailed so beautifully. Well done Jim! Hope your Easter was blessed! Hugs, Brenda
